6/6-6/27:Traditional Glass Painting (4 wk), Saturdays 1:30-4:30pm

Building on the foundations of Jean’s Beginning Glass Painting course, this four-week workshop is intended to take your glass painting skills to the next level by introducing techniques to infuse vibrant color into grey-scale designs. You will learn matting, stippling, layering and using silver stains. This class is ideal for students with previous glass painting experience who are eager to explore advanced techniques and refine their artistic vision. But don’t be afraid to jump in! If you haven’t painted on glass before, you will still be able to complete the class projects and previous experience is not required. There will be some homework between classes.
How will this workshop be carried out? Through two distinct projects, you'll explore different painting styles and methods. The first project will focus on loose, expressive painting techniques to experiment with pure color, while the second will dive deep into the art of glass painting by using glass paints,  silver stain and transparent enamels to create sophisticated, multi-layered imagery. You'll learn to master the process of layering paint, firing each layer in the kiln, and gaining the skills to develop rich, detailed works of art.
Materials will be provided or available for purchase at Stained Glass Garden, but students are encouraged to bring their favorite brushes for a personalized touch.
