3/1-3/2:2 Day Fusing Alluring Landscapes, Visiting Artist Scandia Wood-Blackwell

In this 2026 all new 2-day painting technique class, visiting artist Scandia Wood Blackwell will introduce you to the techniques she uses when creating her own fused glass landscape paintings. She will cover the importance of choosing your base glass, designing your paintings to convey seasonal changes, time of day, and using Frit, enamels/glass paints to add details. As with most of Scandia’s work, these landscapes are fired several times to achieve the finished presentation. Class participants will create one primary larger landscape and a smaller secondary landscape working from supplied landscape photos and pre-selected background glass. Information on ways to display your paintings will also be reviewed. No glass cutting is required in this technique class and while very helpful, it is not required that you have prior experience with Frit painting or painting canvases. Tuition is $525 and includes all materials.
